It has been described as Norway's most important Viking Age monument. Kaupang was founded in the 780s and had diverse craft production and extensive trade with foreign countries. it was abandoned for unknown reasons in the early 10th century. This map was made to reimagine history, what if Kaupang's people had never left, how might it have grown? What would it look like now?
