As Transport Secretary Louise Haigh quits after admitting misleading the police over a missing phone, Nick Ferrari is joined by i paper columnist, Andrew Fisher. Fisher stresses that Keir Starmer has lost 'a very effective cabinet minister' and that Haigh's resignation is a 'panicked response to a trivial issue'. In a letter, Haigh stated that she remained "totally committed" to the government's agenda, but that it would be "best served by my supporting you from outside Government." She'd earlier admitted that she pleaded guilty to making a false report after she incorrectly told police that a work mobile phone was stolen in 2013. While initially telling police that the device was stolen when she was mugged in 2013, she later discovered "some time later" that the phone had not been taken.
