建昌古城，又稱西昌古城，位於四川省涼山彝族自治州西昌市市府街，建於明洪武二十年（1387年），已有600多年歷史。 建昌古城明朝時為正方形，四牆各為1200公尺長。 城內以四牌樓為中心，向四方輻射，其北稱北街，其南稱南街，其西為倉街，其東為府街，四條街道呈「十」字形交叉而建。 西昌自古便是中國西南邊陲的重鎮，自秦漢始，歷代政權均在此建立過郡、州、司府，委派過官吏。 漢元鼎6年（西元111年），武帝遣司馬相如為使，建邛都（今西昌），設越西郡，轄15縣，屬益州。 歷來就是郡、州、司府的治所所在。 建昌古城現存面積約130萬平方米，大通、安定、建平城門尚存。 2021年，西昌全面啟動建昌古城保護更新項目，整體性推動建昌古城復原建造。 Jianchang Ancient City, also known as Xichang Ancient City, is located in Shifu Street, Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The ancient city of Jianchang was square in the Ming Dynasty, with each of its four walls 1,200 meters long. The city is centered on the four archways and radiates in all directions. Its north is called North Street, its south is called South Street, its west is Cang Street, and its east is Fu Street. The four streets are intersecting in the shape of a "ten". Xichang has been an important town on the southwest frontier of China since ancient times. Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, successive political powers have established counties, prefectures, and divisional offices here, and appointed officials. In the 6th year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (AD 111), Emperor Wu sent Sima Xiangru as his envoy to build Qiongdu (today's Xichang) and set up Yuexi County, which governed 15 counties and belonged to Yizhou. It has always been the seat of government for counties, states and divisions. The existing area of Jianchang Ancient City is about 1.3 million square meters, and the Datong, Anding and Jianping gates still exist. In 2021, Xichang will comprehensively launch the Jianchang Ancient City protection and renewal project and comprehensively promote the restoration and construction of Jianchang Ancient City.
