The programme is as follows: Sinfonia to Cantata No.29 - J.S.Bach (1685-1750) arr David Patrick Chanson de Matin - Elgar (1857-1934) arr Herbert Brewer Handel in the Strand - Percy Grainger (1882-1961) arr Wolfgang Stockmeier Venus (from The Planets Suite) - Holst (1874-1934) Toccata Tropos - Peter Witchell (1945-2016) Choral No. 3 in A minor - Franck (1822-1890) Trumpet March - Geoffrey Bush (1920-1998) Bucket and Spade Polka (Holiday Suite) - Percy Whitlock (1903-1946) Andantino in D flat - Lemare (1865-1934) Fantasia and Toccata - Stanford (1852-1924) Ian Wicks was Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral School for seventeen years and Acting Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral before becoming Headmaster at The Chorister School, Durham. He has written choral pieces for both child and adult choirs, with several of his works published by the RSCM. Our online organ recital series concludes next Wednesday at 7.30pm with a performance by Daniel Cook, Master of the Choristers and Organist of Durham Cathedral.
