Schatten HFN + Dimarzio Angel dual pickup demo!

There aren’t any other videos I’ve found of Schatten HFN dual-pickup rigs, so here’s mine. It’s a Schatten HFN soundboard transducer, blended with a Dimarzio Angel magnetic pickup using a Schatten Artist 2 preamp. Pickups are compared, individually and together, to a Warm Audio WA-47 tube mic. The guitar is a vintage 1976 Mossman 12 string, one of the best sounding 12 strings I’ve ever played. I really like this pickup combo! The Schatten and Angel pickups really compensate well for each other’s weaknesses, and this guitar sounds great onstage. No eq was applied to this recording, either for mic or pickup. They were recorded in one performance into a Black Lion Audio Revolution preamp, and one channel or the other muted to isolate sources (there’s a mistake in the audio from that!). A small amount of reverb, buss compression, and limiting was added to make it sound more “professional” and mixed, but nothing that substantially altered the tone of either mic or pickup. In the real world, some judicious use of eq could make the pickup system sound even more natural and powerful!
