If you were a first generation immigrant child like us, you probably saw the stark difference in your parents view of animals and your friends. While most of our friends had pets, our parents wouldn’t want them in the house, wouldn’t want to be anywhere near them, and were usually downright terrified when they saw a cat or dog. With that being all we knew at the time we assumed it was totally normal. But today we wanted to learn a little more about exactly why most Arabs are afraid of cats and dogs.
