I had the snare mod done by Pete at Metronics and asked for the soldering of the wires to the board (far to small for me!), after copying the mods by ArvidJense. Then I added the alterations to the snare and toms out from the guys at 2btech. They use a different bend connection for the snare out. Instead of using Arvid's bend on a tiny vere, they have taken the signal from the snare+toms, which is a far easier to solder and a cleaner connection, but obviously with the toms included. After fitting the sockets to the back and as low as possible, I had to figure the cabling. The first video I had the snare on a TRS balanced out and all the others on TS outs, as the video suggests. With my jack plug wiring, I ran all the outputs simultaneously, but the snare made the toms 180 degrees out of phase. I also added ground loop isolator's to clean up the signals. The toms played fine if the snare was un-plugged and vise versa with the toms to snare. After lots of swopping of cables and combinations, I found that if i replaced the TS out to a split balanced TRS on the toms and with NO ground loop isolator, then the toms output was un-corrupted and sounded fine. This in conjuction with a TRS output on the snare out also. I did all this many times, but with a ground loop isolator on the toms! Grrr hehe. All good, but I was really impressed by the balanced 180 degree phasing out of the toms (on the snare+toms output) by 2btech... wow it works... Amazing!
