My solo journey to the Everest Base Camp has to be once in a lifetime experience. In this video, I tried to cover some of the most beautiful sights right from Day 1 at Lukla up to the base camp of the highest mountain on earth. People usually prefer to do this trek during the months of Mar-May. However, if you want to experience the best views of the towering peaks of Nepal along with lesser crowd, I would recommend doing this trek between mid-Nov to end Dec. Lower temperatures could be a bit of a challenge but it will be worth the struggle. As a side trip, I also went to the base camp of Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains on earth. It can be a rewarding one-day trek as you will be getting views of some beautiful mountains along with the acclimatization. You will get some great options with many tea houses. If you are going in Mar-May, due to large crowd it is advised to pre-book your stay. Trekking Gear: You can purchase gear at a reasonable price at Thamel, Kathmandu. However, keep an eye on a load of your rucksack. There is a limit of 10-12kg on the Lukla flight. If you have a lot in the rucksack, prefer shopping for trekking gear at Lukla/Namche Bazaar. Permissions: You will need 2 permissions for the trek. One you can obtain at Lukla and another one at Monjo. Maps: It is always recommended to hire a guide for such long treks. If you plan to travel solo: a) Carry a physical map of that region. You can easily get it for 100-200 NPR at Kathmandu b) I used Gaia GPS app (gaiagps.com) for making the entire route and it did wonders. Highly recommended! Network: Ncell sim card works great in Nepal. Even on the way to Everest Base Camp, you will get 4G network up till Pangboche. If you are lucky, there will also be 2G network coverage near the base camp but that's too ambitious. Environment: Always carry a waste pack with you to keep the mountains clean. 😉 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shooting Gear Used: Nikon Z50: https://www.amazon.in/Nikon-Z50-Mirro...
