Street Trials: Inspired Bicycles Video Contest 2023

I spent 2 months putting all my extra time into practicing new street trials tricks, brainstorming song selection and trick variation, and learning video editing software to give myself the best chance possible against the amazing riders entering the Inspired video contest! I pushed myself really hard for this, and the main thing I realized while making it was just how much I love street trials! I really leaned into my creativity, and the opportunity to compete with riders worldwide allowed me to see old spots differently. Street trials is just so much fun! Unfortunately, halfway through filming I sprained my wrist, meaning I filmed most of the clips in just 2 weeks - very stressful! But I'm really proud of how it came out. I was obsessed with making this video the best it could be, and did tons of brainstorming. I came up with some main goals I had with this video, which were as follows: Variation of tricks (showing everything I'm capable of in 1:30 is very difficult, so I certainly didn't want to repeat everything) Syncing the riding to the music - this is really important to me in a video part, and I hoped it would set the video apart from others! I wanted to make the editing really special; the intro alone took me 6 hours. No overdone trick variations, such as regular footjam whip drops! I tried my best to do all new combos, though had to use some basic ones due to my injury. No correction hops: I made a stronger effort for this than I usually do for this, though sadly the line at 0:40 escaped this goal.. I originally had plans to work with a professional filmmaker that fell through. However, this allowed me to really be creative with an iPhone! Nearly all the clips in this video are iPhone clips, but I put a lot of thought into making them look like a bmx film through the use of long angles and a wide angle lens attachment for the phone. I think its awesome what a phone can do if you think about how you use it more carefully. Please subscribe if you can!
