I know that this hero is kind of controversial. There are a lot of folks out there who think he's underperforming and needs some help. I agree that he needs some work. I don't think he's unviable, but I do think that in higher levels of play, he's far too weak. But with that said, he's certainly fun to play (at least I enjoy him), but the question that everyone is asking me to get to is "WHO IS HE BASED ON!?" So today we're taking a look. Sohei is based on both the Sohei warriors of Japanese history, and also the famous Musashibo Benkei, the legendary warrior monk who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune in the Heian Period. Famous for wielding 7 weapons and for being a monsterous brute of gigantic proprtions, Benkei was a powerful fighter and tenacious warrior. He is most famous for his death, protecting his master where he valiantly died standing up, defiant to the end.
