For more eyetech training, visit https://eyetechtraining.com. The near reflex triad are three things that occur in concert with one another when we look at a close object. This is an important concept for ophthalmic technicians to understand. It plays a part in pupillary assessment technique, ocular motility assessment and even during Goldmann applanation tonometry. There are three things that happen when you look up close, and these three things happen automatically and in sync with one another. The three things that happen are: your eyes move towards one another (they converge your lens inside your eye); your crystalline lens changes shape to bring things into focus up close; and your pupils constrict. This is called the Near Reflex Triad. Visit www.EyeTechTraining.com for more information about Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Training.
