Public restrooms might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of creative culture in Japan, but in Tokyo, even the most ordinary spaces can become extraordinary, offering a unique blend of architecture, art, and functionality. Inspired by Wim Wenders' Perfect Days and its beautiful soundtrack, I wanted to explore the Tokyo Toilet project on my channel, Tokyo Record Style. This project showcases how even something as mundane as a public toilet can be turned into a work of art, thanks to the vision of world-renowned architects and designers. While it may seem an unlikely topic for a record-focused channel, it gave me the chance to learn more about my city and share this fascinating and inspiring initiative with you. The Tokyo Toilet project is a collection of 17 public toilets across Shibuya, designed by top architects. Each toilet aims to redefine how we think about everyday spaces, focusing on accessibility, inclusivity, and beauty. These toilets are designed to blend into their surroundings, tell unique stories, and offer a new perspective on urban design.
