Morphing was created by Gu Jiani between 2022 and 2024. The work explores the body and psychological dynamics as its core research ground, slowing down and amplifying forces that are often overlooked, concealed, or continuously in motion. Centered on the idea of “Morphing” the piece reveals ongoing movement beneath surface appearances and the complexity embedded within visible forms. In a context marked by distant conflicts and accelerated development, human perception becomes distorted and fragmented under high-density pressure. The world appears like an image continuously edited and cut by human action. Morphing reflects geological deformation under compression, symbolizing how life forms and physical structures transform under multiple forces.
