May 18th, 2020 Hi Everyone! So this is my first video on YouTube and this channel is going to be about sirens in Oklahoma. Enid is my hometown and there is only 2 videos of thunderbolts in the city and I think the ambience here is amazing, so I’m going to make more videos about Enid’s sirens. In this video me and my sister were talking a lot, there was a stupid loud plane, and I missed the wind up so this is not the best video I will upload, but this is the best video of the ambience from my house besides all the talking and other loud noises because it is not windy at all. I was very excited because it was the first time this year they tested the sirens, and I had never heard this many sirens from my house since it’s usually windy but this day there was no wind at all so you could hear a good 10 sirens at least. I missed the wind up because I did not expect them to test the sirens. Enid has 43 sirens, maybe more, and a verity of them. There is a Thunderbolt 0.5 Miles from my house but sadly it is broken. I last heard it during a tornado warning in 2018. I’m pretty sure it was struck by lightning. 3 Other Thunderbolts and a Sentry 3V8-H are also broken. Siren list: 15 Thunderbolt 1000Ts, one is a 1003, and there are also 2 1000ATSCs but one is broken. On google maps you will find 20 because they have replaced 5 since the Google street views were taken. 8 Sentry 3V8-Hs 8 ASC E-Class 4s 3 ASC E-Class 8s 2 Thunderbeams 3 Federal Signal 2001s (One in North Enid) 1 ASC T-128 1 ASC T-121 in North Enid 1 STH-10 1 ACA P-10 (Disconnected from the system) On Vance AFB which is in Enid but has its own system, they have 8 Whelen 2904s and they test every Wednesday (Non-Weather Permitting) in Whoop. I’m going to start going to sirens and recording them. Enid tests on Monday’s at 12:00pm noon usually from mid March to mid September, Weather Permitting. I’ll be traveling to other cities in Oklahoma to record sirens too. Anyways sorry for the noise in the video and for the longest description, enjoy! Sirens heard: Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 5) - 1.79 Miles Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 5) - 1.86 Miles Thunderbolt 1000AT Chopper Level 5) 1.90 Miles Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 7) 2.31 Miles (Barely Audible) Thunderbolt 1000AT (Chopper Level 1) 2.52 Miles (Barely Audible) Federal Signal 2001-DC2 - 0.61 Miles Federal Signal 2001-DC2 - 1.25 Miles Sentry 3V8-H - 1.04 Miles Sentry 3V8-H - 1.97 Miles (Heard at the end) Sentry 3V8-H - 2.87 Miles (Heard at the end)
