We Tour South Florida's Most Dazzling Glass & Ceramic Art Museum! ✨🏺 | Art Loft

The Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (WMODA) is a non-profit museum that has long celebrated the fired arts in South Florida. Now, the museum is opening its new space in Hollywood, Florida. Executive Director and Curator, Louise Irvine, gives a tour. The museum of ceramics and glass art was founded in 2014 by Arthur Wiener and his family. Now, the museum is home to several remarkable collections. The gallery of Royal Doulton ceramics is considered to be the largest in the United States. WMODA also features an extensive collection of Dale Chihuly’s glass art. Ceramics is celebrated through the decades, with galleries of works from Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras. Visitors can also tour a collection of ceramic art from South Africa from Ardmore Ceramics. WMODA also spotlights local artists working in glass, including Chelsea Rousso and Rob Stern. Visitors can take a piece of art home, with a wide selection of pieces for sale in the museum shop. Also in the shop is a unique collection of textile works by the artists at Ardmore. Art enthusiasts, young and old, are welcomed to follow a self-guided audio tour through the collection for additional historical context and interesting anecdotes. Themed scavenger hunts have visitors searching for motifs across the collection. After it’s months long move from a previous space in Dania Beach to its new home in Hollywood, WMODA remains true to its goal: It’s an impressive exploration of decorative art’s evolution from the 18th century to today.
