SIMANA: The Wackiest Viewpoint on the Indo-Nepal Border

Simana as the name suggests is a border. This popular viewpoint at the Indo-Nepal border on the Darjeeling-Mirik road is about 24km from Darjeeling, 20 km from Mirik and 6km from Pashupati Phatak. Situated at an altitude of 7500ft, the Simana Viewpoint is 60ft by 40ft plateau which offers a breathtaking view of the Kangchenjunga massif, the Singhalila Range and the neighbouring Nepal. Simana is probably one of the wackiest viewpoints ever. Apart from the great panoramic view of the Himalayas the viewpoint offers the thrill of sipping a hot cup of the famous Darjeeling tea sitting on one of the many graves scattered in the area...and yes some aludum and piping hot momos to accompany!!!
