Nathan Millward is an undeniably remarkable chap who really has devoted the last 13 or so years of his life to pure, unbridled adventure. Here in North Devon our community is pretty close-knit so when my barber told stories of a guy who travelled from Sydney-London on a postie bike, I immediately knew that I had to find out just who this bloke was! Thankfully my barber had seen the video Fraser Byrne had made about this croc-wearing-pioneer and informed me of the impact it would make to a petrol-head trapped in suburbia (I joke as I love my home, but you get the point). Armed with my new found inspiration after viewing the video, I proceeded to make contact with Nathan. Essentially what I feel we've tried to create is a part 2 to that voyage of tremendous proportions - because ultimately what does happen to a person once the dust has settled and the end of the road has been reached... This short film was made with the intentions of showing people that adventures don't always have to be dictated by miles travelled and countries passed. Nathan has now embarked on a new adventure that undoubtedly is his most exciting yet - A family and a business based around motorcycle adventures. Does life get better than that? The bike has sold well worldwide. The base CT110 105 cc (6.4 cu in) four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine which is nearly horizontal in the step-through tube/stamping frame. It has a semi-automatic four-speed transmission and a centrifugal clutch. That coupled with a 2:1 ratio gear reduction box known as the dual range sub-transmission, which switched into operation using a small lever under the transmission case, allowed the bike to climb steep slopes. The CT110 is still in production and sold in other countries around the world. In Australia and New Zealand it is known as a "Postie Bike" due to its use by Australia Post and New Zealand Post as a delivery bike, without the dual range sub-transmission. A slightly modified version, the CT110 AG, is sold for agricultural use. After almost 30 years of only being available via second-hand sale from Australia Post in bulk lots, Honda began selling the road-registerable model to the domestic market in July 2009. Apart from the Australian market, large numbers of CT110 and CT90 models were also brought to Tanzania in east Africa, where many are still in use today. Among the original users was Danish aid organisation Danida. During the late 1970s and 1980s they were the standard issue motorcycle for volunteers.
