This is flight 18 of 28 from my recent trip to Europe. In May, I set out to fly to as many places in Europe as possible, while also flying on as many different airlines and aircraft types as possible. Over a 14 day period I flew on 19 airlines, 21 aircraft types, 30 total flights, all while covering over 31,000 miles. In the end I visited 14 different countries throughout the journey. With an average fleet age of 14.8 years, many wondered when & what they would decide to replace them with in the coming years. Well, Embraer fans can rejoice! On July 1, 2025 Scandinavian Airlines and Embraer announced that SAS had placed an order for 45 new Embraer ERJ-195-E2's to not only replace their 14 ERJ-195's, but also help drive fleet expansion. This order came with an additional 10 options for a total of 55 aircraft.
