I'm back with part two in the Amazon series and today we are heading into the jungle, in order to set up a camera trap for Big Cats! During my time in Peru, the aim of my trip was to use camera traps to capture images of the elusive wildlife, with my fingers crossed in the hopes of hitting the jackpot for that Jaguar image! In the video I am working with my Nikon camera trap - Nikon D3000 with a 18-55 kit lens, Two SB-28's and a set of the AWESOME Scout triggers. I'd had a tip off from the researchers about good cat activity on one of the trails, so hopefully the set up will capture something exciting! In Peru I have been staying with the awesome CREES foundation at the MLC in Manu. Over the last 30 years they have taken an area of deforested farmland and by working with local people, with a solid conservation strategy have shown just what's possible by bringing the rainforest and animals back to this part of Manu! For more information check out their website : https://www.crees-manu.org/ In this video I'm using the epic Scout trigger from Cognisys, I've been testing these for over a year now and really have only good things to say!
