Second in this three part ride along the full A617 covers Nottinghamshire's newer rerouted sections, also named MARR. This Mansfield Ashfield Regeneration Route opened December 2004 bypassing Mansfield town centre to circle back over the original straighter A617 urban path that reclassifies the A6191 and rather oddly part of the B6020, plus also names the Rainworth Bypass. Traffic seems to flow well around all this featureless wider carriageway, except for frequent stops at large junctions meeting A38 and A60 among other links offering broader M1 and A1 connections. Plans for dualling up this most boring MARR section of an estimated 52 minute total journey between Chesterfield and Newark may timely resolve some resurfacing needs. This 2nd part ends over a small roundabout offering village access ending the Rainworth Bypass. It introduces 3rd and final part from where the A617 regains its former and far more enjoyable path meandering through refreshing countryside towards Newark from Kirklington Road
