This is my very first project working with visual effects at Full Sail University. I must say, this project was both fun and painful at the same time. It was great to be able to create your very own dynamic simulation but you at the mercy of Maya calculating exactly want you it to do. One the first issues were I ran into was the cup not tipping over. Whenever the hammer hit the up, the cup would stay in place. So what I did was cache everything up the cup, add a field on the cup then key the field to when the hammer hit the cup. The second issue was at the end when the ball lands on the spring plane. My solution for this was caching everything up to the ball landing on the plane. Then once the ball set into its resting position, I duplicated a second ball. The first ball's visibility was keyed off the second ball's visibility was keyed on. I made the ball an active rigid body then allowed the simulation to continue. Overall, this project has taught me how to over come obstacles and figure out different ways to achieve the same goal.
