Ye Wen (October 14, 1893-December 1, 1972) was a Chinese martial artist, representative of the Wing Chun style. In the 1950s and 1960s, in Hong Kong, Yip Man was the first to start open teaching of kung fu Wing Chun, which until then remained a clan-based teaching. In Europe and America, he is also known as the teacher of Bruce Lee, who introduced the Western world to Chinese martial arts. It is known that Ip Man modified and developed the technical arsenal of Wing Chun all his life, but his personal contribution is difficult to determine-primarily because many of his students continued to modify the technique, as a result, it is almost impossible to find a "pure" Wing Chun Yip Man; moreover, it is impossible to find a sample of kung fu of his teachers for comparison. In general, Yip Man still taught traditional Wing Chun and never claimed to create his own style. Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov[a] (born 20 September 1988) is a Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) promoter and retired professional mixed martial artist. He notably competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he was the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021. A two-time Combat Sambo World Champion, Nurmagomedov has a background in the disciplines of sambo, judo and wrestling. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts history.Nurmagomedov was ranked #1 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings at the time of his retirement and until being removed following his title vacation in March 2021. Fight Matrix ranks him as the #1 lightweight of all time. An ethnic Avar hailing from the Republic of Dagestan in Russia, Nurmagomedov is the first Muslim to win a UFC title.He is the most-followed Russian on Instagram, with more than 28 million followers as of April 2021. Following his retirement, Nurmagomedov purchased the Gorilla Fighting Championship (GFC), a Russian-based MMA promotion, for $1 million – going on to rename it as the Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC).
