In contrast to compact solutions, they offer greater flexibility and modularity for a wide range of applications in industry and research. The MetaStation 4E, the successor to the Brabender Plastograph, fits on a standard lab bench and is compatible not only with the 30 and 50 g measuring kneaders, but also with the 350 g internal mixers and the P600 planetary mixer. Single-screw extruders with 19 mm diameter as well as Brabender's conical twin-screw extruder can also be connected. Furthermore, single-screw extruders with 30 mm diameter as well as all Brabender twin-screw extruders, e.g. the TSE 20/40 as well as the Twin-Screw Compounder can be docked to the MetaStation 8E or 16 as successor models of the Plasti-Corder Lab-Station.
