Dinner with 3 BIG MOOSE at Kamben (!!) | Mountains of Norway on Tour

Welcome to Kamben Høyfjellshotell! In this episode, we arrive at one of the most charming mountain hotels in Norway, beautifully decorated, full of character, and surrounded by endless nature. Honestly… you just have to see it to understand what we mean... We start our stay with a hike straight from the hotel up to Storefjelltoppen (1149 meters above sea level). The views from the summit are absolutely breathtaking. From the top, we can see peaks and mountain areas stretching far into the distance , including Grytingen, Storehorn, Totten, Hemsedal and even the snowy peaks of Jotunheimen National Park. We even meet a local who confidently tells us this is the best place on earth, haha! On our way back, we also visit Veslefjell (1095 m.a.s.l.), where we find a small cozy warming cabin. Back at the hotel, we rent e-bikes and head out onto Mjølkevegen, one of Norway’s most famous scenic cycling routes crossing Golsfjellet, Valdres and towards Jotunheimen. Along the way, we stop at Oset Fjellkirke, a charming mountain church, before continuing down to Tisleifjorden. Surrounded by incredible autumn colors, we explore the large dam aaaand of course, we take an ice-cold swim in the fjord. Norwegians are crazy, right? Back at Kamben, we are treated to an unforgettable dinner made from local ingredients elk / moose hunted in the Hallingdal valley and mushrooms picked right behind the hotel. And as if that wasn’t special enough, three or four moose suddenly appear outside the dining room window while we eat. A true Norwegian moment!! Loved it... A huge thank you to Martin and Elin for the warm welcome and of course for the incredible cinnamon buns we got to bring with us on our way home! We would love to come back.
