And then there’s “real life” — work, meetings, business, bills. But the Alter Rebbe says something radical. When you fix times for Torah study, even if it’s just a small part of your day, and you sincerely resolve that if Hashem gives you more time you will learn more — then even the time you’re not learning is connected to Torah. Because “a good intention is counted as a deed.” And the same is true with money. Even if you give only a fifth to tzedakah — that fifth lifts the other four. Just like one korban in the Beit HaMikdash elevated entire categories of creation, your charity elevates your entire income. So now your business isn’t separate from holiness. Your schedule becomes a sanctuary. Your income becomes an offering. You’re not just fitting G-d into your life.
