In this video, I respond to a popular counter-argument against antinatalism—the claim that if life is truly harmful, then antinatalists should logically commit suicide. I explain why this argument misses the core point of antinatalism. The philosophy doesn't concern itself with those who already exist, but with the ethical implications of bringing new people into existence. Once someone exists, they are trapped within powerful biological drives and survival instincts that make the decision to end one's own life extremely complex and unnatural. This biological constraint doesn’t apply to those who don’t yet exist. Therefore, shifting the focus from potential lives to existing ones is a category error that undermines the argument against antinatalism.
