Kris Boyd is the SPL's record goalscorer and returned to Kilmarnock in 2013 for a second spell at the club at which he first made his name. Boyd made his debut in 2001 during a 1-0 victory over Celtic and scored his first goal the following season in a 2-0 home win over Motherwell. Since then he has banged in 167 SPL goals, 67 of which came for Kilmarnock, overtaking Henrik Larsson as the league's top scorer and becoming famed for his clinical finishing inside the box. Boyd's career has seen him play at Rangers, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Eskisehirspor and Portland Timbers, but it is arguably at Kilmarnock where he is remembered most fondly.
