This is a special Olympic themed episode of Pouring Together. I decided on this theme in honor of the 2021 Summer Olympics currently happening in Tokyo, Japan. In this episode I do a 5 ring pour in the colors of the Olympic rings. We explore techniques of pouring for beginners in this fun fluid art tutorial. I recount my career of Lance Travis the national pairs figure skating medalist and talk about my connection to the Olympics as we were the first alternates to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. I also talk about our competition team for the NHK Trophy in Tokyo, Japan where we were on the same competition team with the infamous Tonya Harding. As the Olympic Pour develops, I decide that I'm not totally in love with the colors. I mix up some cell activator using Titanium White, AKA Amsterdam Formula. We then explore swiping techniques and swiping for beginners. I also discus how I got into fluid art and how it was a therapeutic escape for me during the time of Pandemic. Through this video I also urge you to never give up on your painting. There are always things we can do to enhance and embellish in order to make a more pleasing composition.
