Are you visiting Franschhoek South Africa? This area is only about an hour drive from Cape Town. This town is known as the 'Food and Wine Capital' of the country. There are more wineries here than anyplace else in the world. We take the Franschhoek Wine Tram, to visit several wineries for wine and food pairings. It's a fun way to get around between the historic train and buses. We chose the Pink Line Itinerary, but there are other options as well. We end up going to three wineries--Rickety Bridge, Grande Provence, and Franschhoek Cellars. We also visit Pigcasso, known for it's famous painting pig (yes, really), a rather interesting place.
