We use these words all the time!  That's why knowing how to pronounce aunt and other family relationship words with an American accent will quickly improve your spoken English.   In his lesson, we will use the American accent to practice pronouncing the most common family relationship words and learn a few common mistakes that most non-native speakers make when pronouncing these words.  Remember, repetition practice is the only way to permanently change your English pronunciation. Practice  with this lesson every day for one week (that's at least 7 times) for permanent pronunciation changes. More practice is great!  But try to stick with only one set of common words at a time Record yourself saying these words out loud. Listen to the recording.  Write down every mistake that you hear.  This will train your ear to know when you are doing it the right way. As you practice: Look away from the words as much as you can. Speak naturally. Pretend you are talking to a friend. Try to imitate the intonation (change in pitch or music) that you hear. Notice which syllable is stressed or emphasized and make the vowel louder and longer in that syllable. Notice the way I connect sounds and words and imitate that too.
