❄️WINTER WEATHER IMPACT AND SNOW SQUALLS ❄️ A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through Friday evening for Rock, Keya Paha, Boyd, Brown, and Holt counties. The main concerns include blowing snow, brief whiteout conditions, and localized snow accumulations up to 1 inch or more. 🌨️ SNOWFALL & WIND FORECAST Blowing snow showers will continue across Nebraska early Friday morning, with the worst conditions expected near O’Neill, where advisories are in place. ⏰ Peak impacts: 7 AM – 5 PM Friday ⚠️ Snow Squall Warnings may be issued, mainly north of I-80, where sudden whiteout conditions are possible. Strong winds will frequently reduce visibility — at times near zero — making travel hazardous. Snow accumulations will vary due to gusty winds causing blowing and drifting, making totals difficult to measure. A few moderate to heavy snow bands may develop through the afternoon and evening, with a brief mix of sleet possible farther southeast. 📍 BEST SNOW CHANCES Through Saturday, the highest chance for additional snowfall will be near and east of Valentine along the Dakota–Nebraska border. These snow bands may drift southeast, increasing accumulation potential in northeast Nebraska. 👉 Localized heavier snow bands could result in higher totals. 👉 Best chance for 1–2 inches: North of I-80 🥶 EXTREME COLD ARRIVES SATURDAY Saturday will be blustery, windy, and bitterly cold. ❄️ Wind chills: 10–25 degrees BELOW ZERO Saturday morning 🌬️ Strong northwest winds continue through the afternoon 🌡️ Temperatures will feel like 0–5°F all day in eastern Nebraska 🏠 A great day to stay indoors — bundle up if you must head out! ➡️ LOOKING AHEAD • Another clipper system could bring light snow Sunday evening, reinforcing colder air for MLK Day • Late next week, a potential system may deliver even colder air with light rain/snow chances • Polar vortex conditions continue across much of the U.S. 📺 Storm Team Forecast 🗓️ The Morning News — Friday, January 16, 2026 🔔 Stay tuned for updates and stay safe out there! 👍 Like | 💬 Comment | 🔔 Subscribe for the latest Nebraska weather updates TIMELINE: Cold front on its way, snow chances for parts of Oklahoma Saturday #Weather #WinterWeather #weatherchannel #BlowingSnow #ArcticBlast #DangerousCold #WindChill #NebraskaWeather #BlizzardConditions #ColdSnap #WinterStorm #TravelAlert #WeatherAlert #SnowDay #PolarAir #WindyWeather #ExtremeCold #MidwestWeather #ForecastUpdate #StaySafe #ColdFront #WeatherNews #snow #trending #storm #nature #snowstorm #nebraska #rain #omaha #iowa #winterstorm #news #shorts #youtube #blizzard #subzero #canada #travel #snowsquall #short #central #entertainment #comedy #love #live #polarvortex #winterstorm #snowforecast #foxweather
