Science at its finest! As unscientific as the testing was, it's fairly clear to me that there are not huge gains to be made utilizing turndown tips (at least the ones in this setup). The relative differences were pretty minor between all the setups. I wonder how much the double-walled exhaust tips muffle sound vs the single wall turndowns. I wonder if there was enough consistency in the revving (tried to hit redline in each test). In any case, was a decent experiment and tips facing AWAY from the sound meter seemed to net a 2-3% dB reading adjustment.
