I figured Arven would get a Seasonal alt soon, but I thought for sure it would have been a Palentines alt. Honestly, given the theming of his outfit, my guess was actually pretty close lol. Holiday Arven is pretty good, pretty much acting as a SMUN enabler while providing solid damage as well. His grid is also nice, being able to build him as other DPS or as a semi-support depending on what you need for him! (The only notable one I didn’t use being Solar Sync, but there’s so many Sun setters that I think that’s ok) Besides his SMUN stacks on his B Move, Arven’s main selling points are his passives. Two of his passives lower sync countdown after a sync, having different effects depending on who on the team syncs. The best part is that if Arven syncs, he doesn’t consume two Berrys, despite proccing two of his passives! BOGO is also especially helpful if you run him with two gauge-heavy teammates. Arven’s most obvious flaw is his lack of aoe, which pretty much removing a lot of his Tower and UB potential. Plus, Arven needing to burn a turn before providing SMUN stacks every time he uses his B Move is also a negative, but that’s probably just for balance purposes I suppose. Otherwise, Holiday Arven is a very fun unit who turned out to be a lot better than I expected. Mind you, he definitely shouldn’t be the priority pull this month for most players. But, if you like Arven or need a Fire nuker, he’s definitely a fun and useful unit that can be ran with pretty much any special Fire team! Enjoy! —————————————————- 0:00 Definitely makes up for the NC Hilbert shaft! 1:54 Overkill This team is pretty much my way of making up for not having Arc Silver to set up EX Sun lol. Arven’s nuke multipliers are Scorching Sync 9 and two Brainpower multipliers (one on grid and one as his innate nuke). These are all generally easy to set up, but Hugh ensures that I don’t need to pick up Hostile Environment on his grid. This stage is annoying in trying to show off Special units, especially since Arven doesn’t have Dauntless on grid, but Arven is strong enough for the debuffs to not matter too much. 4:51 Sun + Rebuff Here’s a much more practical and plausible team most people can use with Arven lol. Pretty similar idea to the last clear, except SS Hilbert gets a lot of benefit from Arven’s SMUN stacks! Mind you, the Techno Blast I used was -1 Sp. Atk with no rebuff! 7:53 General Use If it’s not obvious from his teamwide SMUN stacking, Arven works best in dual strike scenarios. Mela is a solid teammate for him, due to their shared theme skills and Mela’s B Move taking advantage of Arven’s SMUN. I also brought Staggering here, which can be very useful depending on the stage and/or team. 10:36 Burn Enabling DC Bianca is a good unit to pair with Arven to enable his Burn multipliers, along with providing Sp. Def debuffs as well. Plus the SMUN stacks paired with Bianca’s aoe damage makes them a great duo too! 13:28 Cheap Team Pretty cute how Arven and Event Florian are actually really good partners. I could definitely see them being a new early Rally duo I could use for their Role combo. Gym Kabu pairs with Arven pretty well too, thanks to his Galar Solidarity stacks, teamwide Fire multiplier and SEUN on his TM. 16:05 SMUN Stacking Arven’s SMUN stacks work well even outside of Fire teams, so I figured I’d show that here with Summer Skyla. I also used V. Sawyer to show off Arven’s BOGO with a decently slow and gauge-heavy support. Arven surprisingly did some good chip damage, considering the Standard Damage Reduction parameter, but that’s the power of SMUN stacks ig. 19:55 Gauntlet 2v1 Example Holiday Arven is likely going to be ran primarily in duos in LG, due to his poor bulk and lack of healing on both his base kit and his grid. A solo for this stage is possible, but the documented clear I saw was at Lv. 200 and 5/5… so I doubt Arven is capable of it at this level. Luckily, since this stage is On-Type for him, I can run a defensive Eggmon with him so as to not waste better units. This clear does require some flinch luck and, if you don’t run Vilgilance, praying for no crits (like the one at the end of the clear!), but otherwise a pretty simple duo. 22:25 Tower Example As mentioned above, Arven’s lack of aoe really hinders his viability in later Tower stages. But, he does have his uses, if you primary use him as an enabler for a much stronger Fire DPS. In this case, I had him carry Mela’s damage with the extra help of SS Morty’s Sun. Obviously, there are better Fire options for Tower, but this team isn’t bad if you’re lacking in good Special Fire units like me. —————————————————-
