Read the best monographic book on Louise Bourgeois here: https://amzn.to/3MU1nvI Louise Bourgeois, born in 1911 in Paris, France, and passed away in 2010 in New York City, the United States of America, is a truly iconic artist, best known for her often monumental sculptures, installations and prints. Her career spans across seven decades, establishing herself as one of the most important artists of the contemporary era. Her creative process is marked by an introspective reality, rooted in her cathartic re-visitations of early childhood trauma. Occupied with these autobiographical elements, she examines female sexuality, but also jealousy, violence, anxiety, feminism and loneliness. Recurring motifs in Bourgeois’ conceptual and stylistically complex oeuvre, are body parts, houses, cages, and arguably most famously her monumental spiders. Bourgeois’ multidisciplinary practice encompasses sculpture, installation, drawing, prints, and even works in fabric. She often combines traditional marble or bronze with every day objects. An imbued value enters those objects with her personal symbolism and an act of psychological release, playing upon the powers of association, memory, fantasy and fear. 🌟 Overview: Career Advice for Artists → https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... 🍿 Watch Next (Key Videos for Artists) → Self-Taught Success: • 6 Steps To Success as a Self-Taught A... → How To Make Money as an Artist: • 20 Ways: How To Make Money As An Arti... → Develop Your Art Style: • How To Develop A Consistent Art Style... → The Art World Explained: • Explained: What is the Art World? — P... 📖 Recommended Books: → Art World & Career Advice: https://amzn.to/46anb09 → How To Become A Successful Artist: https://amzn.to/3YwtjvS → Art History: https://amzn.to/3I0ri5I → Overview of books: https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... ✏️ Recommended Tools & Ressources: → Squarespace for artist websites: squarespace.syuh.net/9W4rDY → Artenda for art opportunities: https://artenda.net → Artfacts for career rankings: https://artfacts.net/register?ref=596... ❤️ Support us on Patreon: → / contemporaryartissue ℹ️ About CAI: CAI is the abbreviation of 'Contemporary Art Issue,' a hybrid platform for contemporary art including: → Online Magazine: https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... → Advice for Artists: https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... → CAI Gallery: https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... → Webshop: https://www.contemporaryartissue.com/... 👨 About the host Julien Delagrange: Julien Delagrange is an art historian, contemporary artist, and the founder and director of CAI.
