I failed the GR20 this year, so I’m going back next season with an even lighter setup. This video is all about the kit I’ll take for a 7-day fast-pack attempt, where weight is everything. This time, I’m stripping it back further - no stove, no pot, no big food carry. Just: One emergency meal A few high-calorie snacks Top-ups at refuges That keeps my pack down to around 4.6 kg, including food, which means more speed, less strain, and less wasted energy. Fast-pack philosophy (for the GR20 reset): Carry the bare minimum that still keeps you safe in alpine weather. Prioritise moving light and fast over comfort. Kit highlights (what makes the cut): 30L vest-style pack with bottle carry Simple sleep system One set of active clothes + minimal spare layers Filter + small bottles for quick refill Headlamp, phone/nav, power bank Trekking poles + trail runners Camera trimmed to essentials This is a fast-pack, not a long, slow grind - a second shot at one of Europe’s toughest trails, but with a lighter, sharper system built only for moving.
