The New York Piano Society, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering, developing, and presenting talented non-professionals pianists whose primary professions or fields of study are in non-musical areas. "From Bach to Brubeck" was our 2018-2019 season finale concert on May 19, 2019 in Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center. This program featured NYPS Members who are professionals in fields marketing to medicine performing works by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Granados, Rachmaninoff, and more. These excerpts feature our evening's Guest Artist Matt Herskowitz, a pianist, composer, and arranger who uniquely combines the superlative technique of a classical virtuoso with his prowess in jazz, world music and free improvisation.
