Living in one’s own tormented world or accepting the truth of reality, and recognizing that while we cannot always control what happens to us, we can choose what defines us. It reflects my journey and the mental battle I faced in the past throughout my career, the highs and lows of public life, and the feeling of performing for everyone and to no one. For years, I struggled to show the artist I truly was…to be seen beyond perception, beyond control, and what others wanted me to be. I’ve faced relentless cruelty and public ridicule that once shattered my sense of self, but I learned to turn all of this pain into armor. At times, the dancing monkey, which often left me feeling like a clown, moments I felt like a joke, like my voice existed in a room where no one was listening. This song is about the human experience, navigating through life’s relentless blows, and finding purpose within the madness. It’s for anyone who’s ever poured their whole heart into something only to be met with silence, dismissal, or laughter. For those who’ve felt like their story was written by someone else’s hand. For anyone who has been pushed to the brink. Felt like an imposter. Been misunderstood. Hidden their pain. Been made the fool. Been through hell and back. There’s a certain rage and a strange relief in reaching that moment where letting it all burn starts to feel like freedom. And through it all the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is when it gets darkest and you have nowhere else to turn…there’s no one left to run to but yourself.
