Lone Eagle Peak 11,946' Indian Peaks wilderness
8/31/19 This was my day hike of Lone Eagle Peak, it was a 22.5 mile day that took 8.5 hours to complete. I started just before first light, heading towards Crater lake from the Monarch lake trailhead on the Cascade Creek trail. It's was 8.06 miles from the car to Crater lake, from there I went to the base of Lone Eagle and skirted the cliffs towards triangle lake! From first sight of triangle lake it's roughly 100 yards to the start of Solo Flight. I found the route to be straight forward and easy to locate. If you're not comfortable with down climbing low 5th class bring a rope. The Crux is a 4/5 class chute filled with loose scree, from there follow the obvious ledge to the "sidewalk" to reach the exposed/airy Summit! Enjoy the veiws!!
