Since my method involves a connection without soldering, it is necessary to remove this layer of varnish with light movements of a knife. In this case, the copper acquires a lighter color and shines. The connectors sold in the store pierce the paths of the LED strip and are not reliable. Method number one using bolted terminals. This method is more laborious than the second one, but it has the advantage that such terminal blocks can be found in any store, one way or another connected with an electrician. In addition, it is highly likely that you have such terminal blocks. Previously, they were used in places where chandeliers, sconces and other lamps were connected. In order to make a homemade connector for an LED strip with your own hands, you need to remove the plastic insulation from the terminal blocks, since it is too large. This can be done by cutting one side of the terminal block. We unscrew the bolts from the terminal block, and holding it with pliers we make an incision with a knife. If necessary, open the cut insulation and release the terminal block from it. We release the bolts from the captivity of the insulation and screw them into their place in the terminal block. If the contacts of the LED strip are small, then they can be increased by removing the required amount of paint from the front side of the strip. An incision must be made between the tracks of the LED strip so that the stripped part of the strip can freely enter into each terminal block. If necessary, trim the tape slightly around the edges. An incision between the tape tracks can be made almost to the LED with a knife. Now you need to insert the prepared LED strip into the holes of the terminal blocks, so that the screwed-in bolt presses the stripped part of the strip to its wall. We prepare a heat shrink of such a length so that it covers the terminal block and the bare section of the wire, we put it on the wire, which in turn is inserted into the terminal block and tightened with a bolt. Now we close all visible bare areas of the joints with heat shrinkage, and constantly moving the lighter, heat it until it shrinks completely. It is advisable to remove the formed carbon deposits. This can be done with water and a rag. The moment of truth is coming. We connect the wires of the homemade tape connector to the contacts of the power source. Everything works and you can be sure that the contacts are reliable. The second method is faster, but you need to purchase two power connectors with a terminal block. One with a socket, the second with a plug (as they are called by the people to dad and mom). The disadvantages of such terminal blocks are that they are designed for a current of no more than 2 Amperes, and the bolts are so small that they cannot be tightened with an ordinary small screwdriver. The LED strip is prepared in the same way as in the first case. We unscrew the bolts in the terminal block, insert the LED strip into it and tighten the bolts. Thus, you can connect the LED strip with a wire in two ways without a soldering iron and soldering.
