Exquisite Mouse! In the early 2000's three ridiculous and unscholarly books were printed claiming Dr. George Hill Hodel murdered people as a homage to surrealism. The books are Black Dahlia Avenger, Exquisite Corpse, and Most Evil. These books contained self-serving fantasies about Dr. Hodel (never convicted of a crime), crime scene evidence, murder victims, and the most far-out associations with surrealism they could find. For the authors, connecting murder to art meant attacking artists. This they did in an attempt to malign and discredit surrealist artists in the most inhuman and damaging ways possible. The authors attempted to redefine the meaning of one art piece after another, all in the service of one man they claim payed homage to surrealism with murder. This video is a parody of taking art - even the animator's art - far off the map into the realm of selfishly inspired absurdity. Worse - connecting art and murder - like connecting comics, video games, literature, poetry, music, TV, and movies to murder - may seem like a good excuse to prop up a cause, but as has been shown time and again, the arts are probably the last place to look for why humans harm other humans. Walt Disney's cartoon The Mad Doctor was released to young and old in 1933. Some people felt it was too dark. The film in now in public domain. Thank you for watching.
