Bulls vs Pistons 1985: Another memorable Michael Jordan vs Isiah Thomas match-up featuring MJ vs Joe Dumars for the first time, Jordan tries to fight Laimbeer, Bulls vs Pistons Head Coaches throw down, Bill Laimbeer CHOKES, and Michael Jordan TROLLS the Pistons! This is one you'll never forget watching. IMPORTANT CONTEXT: This was the Chicago Bulls 2nd game of Michael Jordan's 2nd season. Unfortunately, Michael Jordan would break his foot just 18 minutes in to the Chicago Bulls very next game, 3 days later, against the Golden State Warriors and he missed most the season. Michael was injured in the Bulls 3rd game of the season. Also of important historical note, this is Jerry Krause's first roster. Jerry Krause's first move was to bring in an old George Gervin, who Michael Jordan did not get along with dating back to George Gervin's involvement with the All-Star freeze-out game. Jordan went after George Gervin in their first practice, and Gervin said that was the day he knew he needed to retire. (There is/was a video on YouTube with Gervin talking about how that was the day he knew he didn't have it any more.) Sam Smith's summary of that time-period is as follows: "Curiously, the next season the Bulls signed Gervin before the season and released Jordan’s best friend on the team, Rod Higgins. Jordan was furious about the move, a remnant as well from that All-Star game. But not yet willing to break from his North Carolina discipline of accepting organization first. Jordan broke his foot three games into that 1985-86 season and would be replaced in the lineup by Gervin, who later fell into a drug problem in what would be his final NBA season." Not the greatest transaction for Krause. People always make jokes about "plumbers" and "sports equipment workers"... some might say respectfully that would describe Jordan's teammates in the 1980's... Anyways... Hope you enjoy the edit.
