This is what dry cleaners use to work on and remove difficult stains. It's called a SPOTTING BOARD and it's basically the 'desk' of the spotter (a spotter is the technician who does the cleaning at a dry cleaner). A spotting board is shaped like an ironing board which allows garments to easily be pulled onto it. It has a few main areas: 1) The board itself holds the garment and all of the solvents a spotter uses throughout a day along with the vacuum at the nose 2) The spotting gun, which shoots out steam or air 3) Pedals which control the spotting gun and vacuum (some use triggers but pedals are usually preferred) The spotter usually works the pretreatment into the stain and then blows it out with steam, and then dries it after with air. Oftentimes these solvents can create rings or water marks so drying out a stains treatment right after is key! Proper machine washing of a garment after spotting is very important to ensure all treatments have been rinsed out.
