"Breadcrumming aka Breadcrumbing" is when someone sends out flirty, but non-committal digital morsels (i.e. "breadcrumbs'') in order to lure in a romantic partner without showing much follow-through. In other words, breadcrumbing is the modern-day version of leading someone on. What makes it modern is that these breadcrumbs often show up utilizing technology like a romantic prospect liking lots of your social media posts or sending sporadic DMs or late-night texts for booty calls.
