Planning power sources, antennas, and gear for cold weather. The importance of practicing setup and teardown to simulate emergency scenarios. 📡 Operating and Scoring: Operating on HF, VHF, and UHF bands using voice, CW, and digital modes. Objectives like operating 100% on alternative power, making satellite contacts, and deploying multiple antennas. Maximizing multipliers for unique achievements like QRP operation, satellite communications, and using multiple modes. 📝 Rules and Guidelines: Exchange format: Call sign, category, class, and location identifier. Key rules for operations, including power limits, cross-band contacts, and non-repeater QSOs. With hazards like snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, it’s an excellent opportunity to test your skills and equipment while staying prepared for real-world emergencies. 📅 Event Highlights for 2025: Date: January 25-26, 2025 Operational period: 1600 UTC Saturday to 1600 UTC Sunday Setup: Max of 12 hours starting Friday at 1600 UTC Location: Choose your site, whether at home, indoors, outdoors, or mobile. 💻 Submitting Your Logs: Accurately record contacts in Cabrillo or ADIF format, ensuring all exchanges meet the rules.
