Sunday, February 1, 2026 - Live Streamed at 9:30 AM POURING OIL ON TROUBLED WATERS Have you ever heard that phrase? Historically speaking, there once was the commonly held belief that a small vial of oil could make the waters smoother for sailing. In fact, ancient sea captains almost always carried a vial with them. That begs the question "How much does it cost to buy off God?" The answer is usually arrived at quickly - "It costs nothing. We can't buy off God." True, but we know what God requires of us: "Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God." Jesus shared the Beatitudes to be our "oil." You want to know how to smooth the troubled waters? Live according to the teachings of Jesus.
