Believe it or not, I actually began making this video over a year ago. The project sat dormant for a while because I really didn’t know how many people would be interested in seeing it. Since then, however, I have had countless people ask me about this place. So, I recently took it upon myself to finish the video up, which wasn’t too difficult as it was already about 3/4 done. Here it is. The Castle of Muskogee is a Renaissance-themed event venue located in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They host several seasonal events each year including a Renaissance Festival, a Halloween Festival, and a Christmas Festival. In the mid 2000s, they began a business relationship with Gemmy Industries through a local contact, Jason Jones. Ever since then, Gemmy has shipped in truckloads of inventory to the Castle annually. They still get shipments in to this day. The most interesting part of this, though, is the fact that instead of only sending new old stock or material from retail stores, Gemmy also ships in prototypes from various stages of production, many of which ended up unreleased or changed drastically. This place really is a Gemmy collector’s dream. They do not ship or do online transactions for animatronics, the only places you can go to buy these items are in their shops when they have their Halloween and Christmas events. If you are ever in the area though, I would definitely recommend checking it out. I went there twice and I have some very fond memories of it. This is the first video in a three part series centered around my experiences with the Castle of Muskogee. This one in particular focuses on every single significant photo and video taken at the Castle from before my first trip there in 2019. My friend and I conducted most of the research on the Castle of Muskogee from 2019-2020 and discovered and archived almost all of this material on our own, using Facebook and other sites. Many of these photos were “leaked” but I’m sure there are at least a couple of things here that have stayed under the radar. Like I said, everything shown here is of significance, even if it may not seem like it at first. Unfortunately, the only available photos of some items are ones in which they are featured in the background or something along those lines. I didn’t want to crop them because there would be an obvious quality loss. So treat this video sort of like a scavenger hunt. If there’s a photo of something that doesn’t seem all that important, look closer. This is a long video, so grab some popcorn, enjoy the ride, and try to find as many items that you didn’t know existed as you can! I added music throughout a lot of this compilation to make it fit the documentary style video that I was going for. Some of the songs I chose have an actual connection to the Castle, but most were just thrown in for fun. I had to use pitch-edited versions of a few of the songs because of copyright, which is annoying but it was the only way to get around it. The next video in this series will focus on my first trip to Oklahoma in 2019. Stay tuned! Disclaimer: I do not claim ownership of any material used in this video.
