LIVE: West Bengal Voter List Update | 15 Lakh Names Pending Over Missing E-Signatures

In West Bengal, around 15 lakh voters remain in limbo due to missing e-signatures in the electoral rolls ahead of the April 23 & 29 Assembly elections. The Election Commission published the third list of voters late Saturday. Judicial officers have disposed of 37 lakh under-adjudication cases, but only 22 lakh names appear in two supplementary rolls, leaving 15 lakh cases unresolved. Following the special intensive revision (SIR) of rolls, 58 lakh names were deleted due to death, migration, duplication, or untraceability, reducing eligible voters from 7.66 crore to 7.08 crore. The post-SIR rolls published on February 28 further cut valid voters to just over 7.04 crore, with 60 lakh names still under judicial scrutiny.
