Bachelor of Industrial Design 17th Annual Chair Show

The Humber College Industrial Design Chair Show was held at the Gladstone Hotel on March 1st. This year's focus on Human Centred Design lead the students to look closely at people and how they use their products. The Chair Show is also a design competition judged by professionals in the Industrial Design and Furniture Design fields. Judges from companies like Nienkamper, Umbra, and Copernicus evaluated the students designs based on the criteria of human factors, aesthetics, economics, and manufacturability. Stephanie Gooderham, Avery Lukan, and Luka Thurlbeck took home the top honours for their design “Kogen” with both the first place prize and people's choice which is awarded by popular vote from show attendees. Second place went to Andrew Hodgson, Adam Lukey, and Santiago Varela for their design called “Versa”. Third place was awarded to Shervin Abdi, Keisha Burns, Ryan Chiu, and Ahmad Mohammed for their design “Myra”. The show is organized by instructors Odin Cappello and Glenn Moffatt.
