10. Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens - This garden looks like a scene straight out of Jurassic Park with its jagged green mountain walls and serene lake. Entry is completely free, but be aware that "the photo" on the palm-lined entrance road is now strictly prohibited, so head to the lake area for the best legal shots. 9. Lanikai Beach & Pillbox Hike - This duo offers the most iconic views in Hawaii: two tiny islands (the Mokes) floating in a turquoise sea. Parking in this residential neighborhood is notoriously difficult and strictly enforced, so park at Kailua Beach and walk 10-20 minutes to Lanikai. 8. Byodo-In Temple - Tucked at the base of the Ko'olau Mountains, this stunning scale replica of a Japanese Buddhist temple is a masterpiece of architecture and peace. It is located inside a private memorial park, so keep your voice down and have $5 (cash or card) ready for the small entrance fee. 7. Nu’uanu Pali Lookout - This historic mountain pass offers a dramatic, panoramic view of the Windward Coast from a cliffside that played a major role in Hawaiian history. It is world-famous for its high-velocity winds, so hold onto your phone tightly and bring a light jacket as the temperature drops significantly at this elevation. 6. Kualoa Ranch - Known as "Hawaii’s Backlot," this private nature reserve is where movies like Jurassic Park and Kong: Skull Island were filmed. Travel Tip: You must book a tour (like the Hollywood Movie Sites tour) to see the famous valley views, and these often sell out weeks in advance. You can also book zip lining, horseback riding, and ATV tours here. @kualoaranchhawaii 5. Hanauma Bay - This sunken volcanic crater is a protected marine life sanctuary offering the best shore-snorkeling on the island with hundreds of tropical fish species. Travel Tip: Access is strictly limited via a mandatory reservation system that opens exactly two days in advance at 7:00 AM HST on the Honolulu Parks & Rec website—be ready to click fast! 4. Manoa Falls - This 150-foot waterfall is reached via a relatively easy 1.6-mile round-trip hike through a lush, prehistoric-looking rainforest. Travel Tip: The trail is almost always muddy and slick, so skip the flip-flops and wear sneakers with good traction that you don't mind getting dirty. 3. Mauka Warriors Luau - Mauka Warriors is truly a must for your Oahu vacation. They provide excellent authentic Hawaiian food and provide world-class entertainment while also teaching you the history of the island. It was the highlight of our trip. @MaukaWarriorsLuauHawaii 2. Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail - This fully paved trail is an easy, uphill walk that offers some of the best whale-watching views in the winter (we saw 8 whales!) and a stunning look at the red-roofed lighthouse. This is the perfect hike to take some of Oahu’s most scenic views. 1. Halona Beach Cove - Often called "Eternity Beach," this hidden gem is tucked into a rocky crevice and offers some of the most cinematic, turquoise water on the island. Travel Tip: Park at the Halona Blowhole lookout and look for the steep, rocky path leading down to the sand; it’s a short but rugged climb, so take your time! #oahu #hawaii #oahuhawaii #hawaiitiktok #oahulife
