YOUTUBE : / @fsagriculture Collecting pig semen is a common practice in pig breeding for artificial insemination (AI). Here's a general overview of the process: Preparation: Select a healthy and mature boar for semen collection.Ensure the boar is properly housed and well-fed to maintain good health. Boar Stimulation: Place the boar in a presence of a receptive female (gilts or sows in estrus). This stimulates the boar and helps to achieve an erection. Ejaculation: Once the boar is aroused, the collector (usually a trained technician) uses an artificial vagina (AV) to collect semen. The AV is typically made of a warm and lubricated material to simulate the female's reproductive tract. Semen Collection: As the boar mounts the AV, the technician collects the ejaculate. The semen flows into a collection bottle or tube. Semen Evaluation: The collected semen is then evaluated for quality. This includes assessing volume, color, concentration, motility, and morphology (shape) of the sperm.Quality control is crucial to ensure that only high-quality semen is used for AI. Dilution and Extending: Semen is often diluted and extended with a special semen extender. This helps increase the number of doses from one ejaculate and improves sperm survival. @PiggyMinecraftAnimations @prabakaran24cowgoatAI @americanseedtradeassociati3281 @fsagriculture@piglover @Healthy_zone #horse
